
The Euphronios Krater, signed by Euphronios as painter and Euxitheos as potter, ca 515 BCE. Formerly in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, now property of the Italian government although on display at the Met through January 2008.
Discussed in this talk were black-figure vase painters such as Exekias and the Amasis painter, "bilingual" painters the Andokides painter and the Lysippides painter, and the Pioneer Group or Transitional Group of red-figure vase painters, whose major figures are Phintias, Euthymides, and Euphronios.
